S A 7 6 5
H A 4 3 2
D Q 8 6
C A 3

1) After partner's 1NT, your 2C was Stayman and the 2H reply showed a 4-card heart suit. Great! Bid 4H.

2) After partner's 1NT, your 2C was Stayman and the 2S reply showed a 4-card spade suit. Great! Bid 4S.

3) After partner's 1NT, your 2C was Stayman and the 2D reply showed no 4-card suit. Shame! Partner must have some clubs. Bid 3NT.

4) After partner's 1NT, your 2C was Stayman and the 2NT reply showed that partner had forgotten the system. Bid 3NT and make a note to change your partner.

D K Q 7 3
C K Q 7 3

1) Your 4C was Gerber, asking for aces. 4H shows only one, so a slam would be foolhardy. Sign off in 4NT.

2) Your 4C was Gerber, asking for aces. 4D shows none so 4NT is your sign-off again. Incidentally, what on earth was your partner doing, opening with 1NT on eight points ? Make a mental note to speak to him severely.

3) Your 4C was Gerber, asking for aces. 4S shows two so 6NT must be a fair bet.

4) Partner clearly took your 4NT as ace-asking (whatever you meant) and has shown two. Bid 6NT.

5) Three passes to you. You don't have a bid.

6) Partner has interpreted your bid as quantitative, so pass and hope she makes it.
