Odds and  ends

Responding to partners' overcall of 1NT.

A 1NT overcall  shows 15-17 points and a balanced hand with good cover in the opponents' suit.

With only approximately 12 points shared between the remaining two hands, responder mostly passes. Note that it is better to play a bid of 2C as a weakness take-out rather than Stayman.

S K987 Whatever suit the opponents have bid, partners' overcall of 1NT should be passed.

The responses outlined after an opening bid of 1NT are still applicable here, making due allowance for partners'15-17 point count.

S K32 The combined point count is 25 at minimum, so bid 3NT at once.

S K97 Your combined point count is 24 at most, so you must pass.

S KQ3 If partner is maximum, you will have a combined point count of 25. Bid 2NT, inviting partner to game.
